Dortmund has an eye on the complete value added chain. The new Center for Production Technology (ZfP), a center of excellence at the TechnologieZentrumDortmund - is the trendsetter for further developments here.
It is aimed at startups and companies in the fields of production and manufacturing technology and links their activities with the high-tech sectors and with micro- and nanotechnology in particular. Special solutions will be developed in their own application centers e.g. for the automotive field. This puts the city at the cutting edge in Germany. Just next door to the MST.factory dortmund, the ZfP opened at PHOENIX in otcober 2008.
Companies from the fields of materials technology and surface technology, robotics and automation technology, sensorics, signal processing and measurement technology, will find high quality workshops, laboratories and test areas on over 5,000 m² of space. Many IT companies specializing in these areas are also located here; they provide essential support within the framework of the complex development and manufacturing processes.
Together with the MST.factory dortmund, the ZfP will form the heart of the future location PHOENIX West and significantly strengthen this concept which is unique in Germany.
